On Wednesday pupils from SCS were among the 160 pupils from West Cork schools who competed in the Bol Chumann School's Road Bowling that took place in Shannonvale, Clonakilty. The four junior boys teams bowled well with the team of Darragh Dempsey, James McNulty and Seán McNulty finishing in third place. The school's senior boys did very well and were unlucky, narrowly missing out on third place. However, the highlight of the day for the school was the senior girl's team of Michelle Crowley, Natalie Dempsey and Tríona Murphy. The girls got off to a slow start but their skill and determination saw them keep the pressure on a strong leading team from Clonakilty. With their final throw the girls overtook the leaders to secure the title for 2017.
Bowlers on the day:
Junior Boys: Donal O'Neill, Jason Hurley, Cathal O'Sullivan, Danny Lucey, Gavin Crowley, Michael Cronin, Donnacha O'Donovan, Darragh Dempsey, James McNulty, Seán McNulty, Míchéal Sheehy, Colm Crowley, Brian Crowley
